Job Summary:

The Tooling Quality Specialist III (TQS) is responsible for performing Quality Control on critical procedures and processes during tool kit fulfillment and tool center operations. The TQS ensures team compliance with tooling quality guidelines, standard operating procedures, and regulatory standards. This role involves defect capture, process control, and supporting problem-solving analysis, Process FMEA, and Quality Control Plans (QCP) to meet customer requirements and engineering specifications. The TQS reports directly to the Facility Director and work closely with Supervisors, EHS personnel, Global Tooling Quality team and Tooling Technicians.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence and compliance with all quality tooling processes and procedures for successful warehouse operations including inventory, packing, shipping, and receiving
  • Drive and initiate quality improvements designed to reduce or eliminate defects
  • Document Quality Assurance daily and collaborate with team members to ensure tooling kits meet QA and QC requirements before shipment
  • Drive timely resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) corrective and preventative actions
  • Participate in the preparation and performance of Quality Audits
  • Perform Quality Audits as planned and during all process activities
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping standards and requirements
  • Open Audit Non-Conformances and Findings in the Quality Management System as needed
  • Participate as a Quality representative in pFMEA and drive Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Review conformance of the Quality Management System, including Quality Policy, Global Critical Procedures & Processes, Global Work Instructions, and SMPs
  • Support the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for severe events
  • Assure the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) is captured in accordance with Global CoPQ standards
  • Track defect issues and address systemic quality issues
  • Report the status of Quality Topics to appropriate leadership in daily meetings
  • Support the Customer's Feedback process, analyze customer responses, and lead corrective & preventive actions as needed
  • < 20% Travel may be required
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Tooling Warehouse Operational activities such as inventory, shipping and packing, preferably with Industrial tooling
  • 3-5 years of experience leading or utilizing quality management with ability to evaluate and utilize statistical tools such as FMEA, DMAIC, and Statistical Analysis methodology
  • Experience with quality management systems and processes
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel. Ability to manipulate and interpretate statistical data
  • Proficient in English (written, spoken, and reading)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited school or institution in quality or operations management or technical degree
  • 5+ years of experience in tooling or field services
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and influence skills
  • Strong ability to influence others in matrix environment and drive team results and accountability
  • Proven skills in fundamental concepts, practices and procedures for quality management
  • Experience leading a team or direct supervision of people
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documentation
  • Flexible, self-reliant attitude and ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Mechanical and Electrical skills or familiarity with Tooling used in power plant maintenance
  • Solid background in turbine-generator equipment and auxiliary sub-systems
  • Certified in Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see and move throughout warehouse to resolve work problems and facilitate processes; repetitive motion activities may be involved
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and squatting
  • Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight up to 40 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits:
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.99 to $39.57.  Employees may be eligible for overtime.  FieldCore benefits include insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability, and life), retirement savings, health and Wellness reimbursement, and a bonus or incentive program.  Eligibility for FieldCore benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable benefits plan.
